Reliable Products Need Reliable People

When a Kytun product arrives where it needs to be, ready for the next stage of the job, there is a lot of work already behind it. Manufacturing. Checking. Packaging. Paperwork. Order preparation. Delivery planning. For John McFadden, that is all part of the day-to-day.

John has been part of the Kytun team for more than six years, working across operations and logistics. His role helps connect what happens on the manufacturing floor with what customers, merchants and installers need on site: products made properly, prepared correctly and ready to move. Because reliable supply does not happen by accident. It happens because people who know the products and understand the process keep the details moving in the right direction.

From Manufacturing Floor to Customer Order

John’s role covers a lot of ground.

“My main role is helping with the manufacturing and packaging of products, while also supporting logistics and deliveries,” he says. “I help prepare customer orders and make sure everything is organised and ready to go out on time.” That matters across the full Kytun product range.

From Dry Fix Roofing Systems and Pitched Roof Ventilation to Aluminium Rainwater Systems and Architectural Aluminium, every product needs to be manufactured, handled, checked and prepared with care before it leaves our facility.

For customers, the finished product is what they see. Behind that is a joined-up process that keeps orders moving through the business with control and consistency.

The Work Before the Delivery

A typical day for John starts with the production list.

“Each morning, we work from a list of products that need to be manufactured,” he explains. “We aim to get everything completed as efficiently as possible before moving on to quality checks and packaging. Once that’s done, we organise the products for delivery the next day.” That sequence is important.

Products need to be made efficiently but not rushed. Checked carefully but not delayed. Packaged correctly, with the right paperwork and the right order details in place. For installers, merchants and contractors, those details make a real difference.

The right products. In the right order. Ready when they are needed. That is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that helps reduce delays, avoid confusion and keep projects moving.

Supporting Customers Across Ireland and the UK

Kytun products are supplied through a wide network of stockists and merchants across Ireland and the UK. That network depends on more than product availability. It depends on coordination.

John’s work plays a practical part in that. “A big part of my role is managing deliveries across Ireland and the UK, so time management is very important,” he says. “You need to make sure manufacturing, packaging and deliveries are all completed on schedule.” For merchants, that means confidence in supply. For installers, it means less waiting around. For customers, it means a smoother experience from order to delivery.

In construction, timing matters. A product that performs is essential, but getting it where it needs to be, when it is needed, matters too.

Detail Matters Before Products Leave the Floor

John is clear about the skills his role needs. Organisation. Time management. Attention to detail. A willingness to learn. “Being organised and having strong attention to detail is essential, especially when it comes to products and paperwork matching correctly,” he says.

That might sound simple. It is not. When orders are moving through manufacturing, packaging and dispatch, small details carry weight. Product references, quantities, paperwork, delivery details and packaging all need to line up. That is how good products leave the floor properly prepared.

And that is how Kytun helps give customers greater confidence before the products ever arrive on site.

Teamwork Keeps Everything Moving

For John, one of the best parts of the job is the team around him.

“I really enjoy working with the team here,” he says. “We have a fantastic group of people, and everyone works hard to keep our customers happy and ensure orders go out on time.”

That team culture matters in a busy operations environment. Manufacturing and logistics depend on people working together clearly and consistently. When teams communicate well, orders move better. When people take pride in the work, customers feel the benefit. “When the team is happy and working well together, everything runs smoothly,” John says. “I think that’s really important.”

We agree. Because performance is never just about the product. It is about the people and process behind it.

From Construction to Kytun

John did not originally plan to join Kytun. “It was actually unexpected,” he says. “Around six years ago, I saw that Kytun was looking for people, so I decided to apply.”

Before joining the team, John worked in the construction industry for a number of years. That background gave him practical experience of how building products are used, handled and needed in real working environments.

Six years later, he is still here, helping keep the process moving from manufacturing through to delivery.

Outside Work

Away from Kytun, John is all about sport. He plays Gaelic football with his local club, St Michael’s GAA, plays soccer, goes to the gym and enjoys watching football when he gets the chance. “It’s all football for me,” he says.

And one unexpected fact?

“I once won €1,000 in a karaoke contest – even though I can’t sing!”

We’ll let you decide whether that counts as confidence, performance, or simply brave delivery…

Products, People and Performance

At Kytun, reliable roofing and rainwater systems are built through strong design, practical manufacturing and careful delivery. John’s role is one part of that wider process.

He helps make sure products are manufactured, packaged, organised and ready to reach customers across Ireland and the UK. It is not always the most visible part of the job. But it is one of the parts customers depend on most.
