Bespoke Manufacturing | Kytun

Built Every Day. Made Extraordinary.

After six years with Kytun, Reece Smith knows his way around aluminium, even if he didn’t plan on it.

“I was originally interested in working with steel,” he says. “But aluminium was different. Lighter. More flexible. More of a challenge.”

That challenge led him into Kytun’s bespoke manufacturing team, working across a wide range of architectural aluminium products in a dynamic production environment where no two jobs (or days!) are ever the same.

Architectural Aluminium

Discover a range of bespoke AluSwift Aluminium building envelope products that includes Fascia & Soffit, Standing Seam, Copings, Cappings & Window Cills.

No Two Days. No Standard Solutions.

Each morning starts with a fresh run of bespoke work.

Window cills. Wall cappings. Parapet systems. Canopies.

Everything made to spec. Everything made to fit.

“It all starts as a flat sheet,” Reece explains. “From there, you’re cutting, bending, shaping, turning it into something that actually works on a building.”

That’s the job. Taking raw material and turning it into finished, install-ready bespoke aluminium fabrications.

Precision Matters. Every Time.

There’s no winging it in this role.

“You’ve got to be able to read drawings properly and measure everything right first time,” he says.

After that, it’s about control. Knowing the machinery. Understanding the material.

Getting it right because it has to fit, perform, and last once it leaves the factory.

From Drawing to Reality

Ask Reece what he enjoys most, and it’s simple.

“Seeing it come to life.”

A drawing becomes a product.

A product becomes part of a building.

“You might pass it one day and think: I made that.

That’s the moment.

And it’s what sits behind every piece of architectural aluminium product leaving the floor.

Advice for Someone Starting Out

“If you like making things, and seeing a result at the end of it, you’ll enjoy this.”

Straightforward. No fluff.

It’s hands-on. It’s skilled. And it’s satisfying.

Outside the Workshop

When he’s not in Kytun, Reece keeps busy.

Family time. A bit of farming. Staying active.

And, unsurprisingly, more fabrication.

“I do a bit of welding at home. Just small projects.”

Some people switch off.

Others just keep building.

And one more thing…

Reece says he’s the best tin whistle player in Kytun.

We’d call that blowing your own trumpet…
